I am Ricky
McDuffie, Captain of the SEA HUNTER. I have lived in Orange Beach all of my life. My father was Carl McDuffie, Captain of the Pompano. From the time I was old enough to kick the slats out of my crib, I was fishing. Fishing is my life, always has been and always will be.
My wife Eva, and I have two sons. Adam and Alex both are working with me on the Sea Hunter. They have the same love of fishing as I. Whether you are fishing for Red Snapper, Amberjack, Scamp, Grouper, or any other species in the Gulf of Mexico, the deckhands won't have any trouble getting the fish in the boat.
Sid Browder is my first mate. He has worked with me for 3 years. Sid does a great job on the deck and he will take care of all your fishing needs. If you need a beer or something cold to drink, just let him know, he'll take care of you. For those of you that have special needs, I offer electric reels (additional charge). The more fish you put in the box, the happier we are. We want you to have the trip of a lifetime so you will be sure to come back.
Before the spring fishing season begins Sea Hunter is dry docked (cleaned, sanded, painted) and brought back up to my standards.Then I start looking for signs of Cobia in our part of the Gulf of Mexico. When the Cobia, also known as Ling, show up, we start going out everyday, even on the days I'm not chartered. You know I enjoy my work if I'm out there on my days off. If you haven't tried Cobia fishing, call me and lets get out there.
On the two day charters we fish for Marlin, Wahoo, Dolphin, Swordfish and Tuna. Tuna fishing is extremely popular.
The highest percentage of my business comes from repeat customers with word of mouth as my main source of advertisement. I have a reputation to uphold which makes me do my very best to keep you smiling and coming back for more.
